Surface design is used in the fields of textiles, ceramics, wallpaper and graphics, but it is also used in different applied arts. In general, surface design starts with paper and pen, but nowadays it can also be started with different materials, especially digital technologies

Creative Surface Design “Experimental”
In this training, nature will guide us and we will make use of flowers. In real terms, we will transfer the colours and shapes of flowers to paper with the help of a hammer. What can you do with this technique that is not familiar to us, would you like to try it?

Materials
Watercolour paper min 200 g/m² , 300 g/ m² works better for this method. Flowers, maybe leaves, that you have carefully collected before the course. Hammer and transparent plastic foil. And some paper towel.

Teacher
Semra Gür Üstüner was born in Turkey. Her high school, bachelor's, master's and doctorate in art and textiles. She started her career as a textile designer. Starting her twelve-year journey as a research assistant at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, she took a break as an associate professor. Surface design, print design, colour, creativity and design history are her areas of expertise. Currently in the process of writing a book on textile art in Turkey, she is excited to open her own art and design studio in Almhult called Studio of Creativity!

Good to know
Participants are expected to come with their materials. The participants will get a list of materials to bring with them to the course.
We will meet 4, 11, 18, 25 of june.
Participationfee is 100 SEK for all four sessions.
