The spine is, in fact, a mechanical marvel. Having a healthy spine allows the brain and spinal cord to work together to carry out all of the body’s functions.
Involved with the spine are 120 muscles, 100 joints, and about 220 ligaments. There are 31 pairs of nerves that snake through the openings of the vertebrae to deliver messages between your brain and muscles. When the spine is properly aligned, then the spine will have the flexibility and mobility, it needs to help you carry out tasks. All functional movements rely on the health of the spine. Since your spine is a focal point for your central nervous system and protects your spinal cord, it also plays an important role in your mental health. If the spine is out of alignment, it could trigger hormonal imbalances, migraines and headaches. Causing mood changes, pain and loss of some functions,lowered emotions and energy, and affect how well you sleep and even how you respond to stress. However, if the spinal alignment is restored and maintained, people can once again have a healthy mind-body connection.

Yaoqing Wang, also known as Uiki, is the founder of PilatesNord studio in Älmhut. She offers Pilates for injury & pathologies, pregnancy and postnatal training, as well as a weight loss program, training for Improve performance of action, etc., work as a personal trainer as well. She has a passion for Pilates, and is looking forward to get to know more people with the same interest in Älmhult.

Please wear/bring: Soft, comfortable clothes, waterbottle.
If you have a pilatesmat or a yogamat, please bring it. There will also be some mats provided.
